Who is Jason?
ABOUT ME

I'm Jason. I focus on fundamental questions.

"Jason Johnson Peretz is an Oxford-trained medical anthropologist and a Sr Clinical Research Coordinator at UCSF with a focus on serving the LGBT and HIV-affected communities. His research interests have developed via increasingly inclusive views of health: from the holism of Chinese medicine through the social determinants of health to global health governance and the role law and politics play in shaping individual and social well-being.  Jason also holds a master’s degree in Catholic theology."
I've always asked questions about where the cultures of the world came from, and where we as a community of peoples are going. I like complicating the questions we've asked before to get new and nuanced answers. I like untying knots, and seeing wonder in the world around me. I like going deeper.

That's why I studied history. History brought me to theology, the study of 'existential questions'; and to Chinese medicine, to learn how people did medicine before surgery and vaccines. That combination led me to anthropology at Oxford University, uncovering how people make meaning of their lives in the here and now.

I believe people matter.
